

If the old computer cannot reach the license server across the web for some reason, Help -> Deactivate Offline will provide instructions for how to move some codes around and return the seat using a web portal (which may require a USB key to move a long code from place to place.)

Uninstalling Camtasia from the old system automatically contacts the license service and returns the seat. The simplest scenario is that you have a new computer but your old one is still operational. There's a couple of different scenarios here: As of 2020, our licensing system is now aware of the machines that you've activated and you will want to return the seat to that service when moving your license from system to system.
